MOROCCO TECHNICAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM
May 25 to June 1, 2024

 
This program provides fundamental and practical knowledge of the applicability of Canadian durum and will focus on milling, pasta and couscous production.  Quality of CWRS will be presented and the baking area will also be visited.  Participants will also gain a firsthand understanding of the Canadian value chain with visits to a local farm and a tour at the Port of Montreal.

1514 – Participants Arrive in Winnipeg on Air Canada Flight 373
Interpreters will be on the same Montreal to Winnipeg flight as the participants. Winnipeg Coach service will meet the group at the Winnipeg airport and transport them to the Inn at the Forks, 75 Forks Market Rd.

1145 – Cereals Canada Hosted Welcome Lunch
Participants will meet program chair Lisa Nemeth in the hotel lobby and go for lunch at SMITH Restaurant (Cabin Room).

1400 – Board Bus at Hotel to Depart for the City Tour and Assiniboine Park Zoo’s Journey to Churchill Exhibit

0830Overview of CGC Bread Wheat and Durum Research and Tour Through the Bread Wheat and Durum Research Laboratory
A presentation discussing CGC activities in cargo monitoring, research to support grade standards, and the regulation of the Canadian wheat classification system. CGC staff will also be present to answer any questions regarding fusarium. Participants will then visit the CGC’s Bread Wheat and Durum Research Lab on the 14th floor, better enabling them to understand customer needs and how the regulatory quality assurance system works to ensure Canadian wheat quality.
